This certificated course is designed to help managers, leaders and governors in the private and voluntary sectors to understand the ways in which dangerous people seek to gain access to vulnerable children, young people and adults through positions of trust. Building upon the training originally developed by the Children's Workforce Development Council in response to recommendations by the Bichard (Soham) Inquiry, this programme has been updated in 2014 by the Safer Recruitment Consortium (NSPCC/Lucy Faithful Foundation/CAPE) and is facilitated by John Guest, an accredited trainer with Consortium.
